Ring Replacement Method

The Ring Replacement Method provides a short turnaround time and is best suited for structures that demand high precision work because it offers less welding distortion.

Work Process

  • STEP01Remove the top shell plate including corroded sections
  • STEP02Lift prefabricated replacement shell plate into place and install
  • STEP03DoneAfter removing the corroded sections, lift the top shell plate back into place and install

Partial Circumference Plate Replacement Method

The Partial Circumference Plate Replacement Method is best suited for situations where the Ring Replacement Method cannot be used or for taller columns and larger column diameters. This method also offers a comparatively short turnaround time.

Work Process

  • STEP01Cut and remove one-quarter* of the section to be replaced (*ratio of segmentation depends on the detailed design)
  • STEP02Lift the new shell plate piece into place and install
  • STEP03DoneRepeat Step 1 and Step 2 four times

Segmentalized Full-Circumference Replacement Method

The Segmentalized Full-Circumference Replacement Method is best suited for taller columns and larger column diameters where corrosion is found across the entire circumference of the shell plate.

Track Record

  • STEP01Install stiffening supports and rings around the section to be replaced
  • STEP02In two opposite places, remove one-eighth* of the segmentalized section to be replaced (*ratio of segmentation depends on the detailed design)
  • STEP03Lift the new shell plate piece into place and install
  • STEP04DoneRepeat Step 2 and Step 3 four times
